HARRIS HOTEL BATAM CENTER, Batam – A Smart Stay in the City

The hotel is ideally located next to Batam Center Ferry Terminal and Mega Mall, offering convenience for travelers. While the rooms show signs of wear and cleanliness issues like ants and poor drainage, the friendly service brightens the stay. The dining options, although diverse, can run out quickly, especially later in the morning.

When we checked in, we noticed a lingering cigarette smoke smell in the rooms that weren't very clean; ants were crawling around the table and near the basin in the toilet. Although the prices were a bit high, the service was friendly and welcoming, responded to our calls quickly, and even helped with luggage storage and a fast shuttle service to catch our ferry.

My stay at the hotel was a mix of positives and negatives. The rooms were spacious and cheery, but the air conditioning had some issues, making it a bit warm and not working at its best. The service was wonderful, but I didn't see many smiling faces around. The location was very convenient for travelers using the Batam Centre Ferry Terminal, but there was no sheltered walkway linking directly from the terminal. The dining experience was just okay, with limited options in the breakfast buffet. Overall, the facilities at the hotel were satisfactory, offering a decent stay.

I was a bit disappointed with my stay at the hotel. The room I got was a smoking room, so it smelled strongly of cigarettes and musk. There were visible stains on the bathroom walls and grouting, likely due to ongoing construction nearby. On the positive side, the staff were very nice and warm, offering to keep our luggage while we went shopping.
